With mindfulness, wellness and nature respectfully woven around it, a gorgeous 10 acres earth-friendly resort in the northern reaches of Kerala, in Wayanad looks out into 270 degree-views of Banasura Hills and the lake-reservoir. If tranquillity and purpose were to seek a co-living address, then the Taj Wayanad would be high up on the list. Its elevated views second that. A stepped resort, built like a high-heeled shoe on a peninsular hill, it has sweeping views of the placid lake. Waterfront cottages, plateaued perches, carpets of vegetation, and an air of idyll are what would captivate you first. But then as you peel away the layers, you will discover a strong sense of purpose that guides every experience on this earth-friendly resort. Sensitive architecture, earth-friendly practices, locally sourced materials that include bamboo, natural stones, timber and Kannur terracotta, and a vernacular design informed by North Keralas heritage come alive with plenty of natural day light. Taj Wayanad is built around its topography. Here design is by choice to be earth-friendly. Stroll around and you will make acquaintance with tropical fruit trees, tall Jambus, Jackfruit trees, Morning Glory, and native flora characteristic of the western ghats.

We visited Kashmir in Winter, and as they say, we experienced Kashmir in all its winter glory. We took a flight from Kolkata that landed us in Srinagar after 4.5 hours. Once we reached there, we understood that our prepaid mobile phones stopped working. Only our postpaid mobile was still working. We checked ourselves into Radisson Srinagar, where a beautiful presidential suite was waiting for our arrival. We enjoyed the hotel thoroughly and recorded it for you to understand what luxury means at Radisson Srinagar. The first day, we needed some time to acclimatize with the chilled weather. In the evening, we went to the Dal lake ghats and had some street foods. I also bought a Kashmiri dress from Radisson Srinagar Souvenier shop. Next day, after breakfast we checked out from Radisson Srinagar and Checked into Batra hotel opposite Krishna Dhaba. In my next video, I will cover more of the next hotel. But after checking in the new hotel, we did not waste any time and went out on an auto ride to the Dal lake. The Auto driver was very kind to take some nice pictures of us. After which, we booked one shikara ride for ourselves. For the next 2.5 hours, we were taken through a vast lake on a small hand made boat, while listening to the shikarawalah's description of various viewing points. One key view point in middle of Dal lake is the Char Chinar island, where there are four large chinar trees placed on four corners of an island. This was a great place to spend time and we took some nice photos of ourselves, dressed in Kashmiri attire. Next major attraction was the Meena Bazar which is a floating market in Dal lake. I did purchase some items to support the local economy and frankly because the items were too good to be passed on. Later we returned to hotel. This video covers everything we did for the first two days. In my next vlog, I will cover what I did on the third day. So stay tuned. We went for a night stay in Bandipur National Park which is also a tiger reserve. We stayed at Windflower Resorts and Spa. I have already vlogged about the experience of overnight stay at Bandipur. This vlog is about Day 2 when we went for a Safari. We have been travelling through Bandipur quite a few times whenever we visited Ooty with friends and family. The residents of the jungle, have given us occasional glimpses of their lives. We have seen elephants and deers. This time however, we were going into a proper safari with the state govt managed bus services. Checkout our experience. We saw some animals, we did not see some as well. But overall, I hope you enjoy the full experience. I have tried to capture all important data points as well- which hopefully will help you in planning your own trips to Bandipur safari.

We were in Bangalore when the covid19 pandemic started in India. A lockdown situation was anticipated at that time. We have aged family members in Kolkata who needed us by their side in these troubling times. It was important for us to be in Kolkata rather than staying in Bangalore. But Airports were a place where most contaminations were happening. We did not want to take the risk of exposing ourselves in such a place in order to travel back to Kolkata. Hence we checked with MyDriverCenter.com if they can provide a driver for a outstation trip from Bangalore to Kolkata by Road. We were not sure if we could get a driver considering the situation of pandemic. But to our surprise, the awesome folks at MyDriverCenter.com found us a driver who was ready to take us to Kolkata by Road. By this time, we had gathered all essential necessary tools for making such a long travel from Bangalore to Kolkata. We had purchased sanitizer, glycerine, ethanol, gloves, n95 masks etc. As soon as we got the confirmation of a driver, we planned the trip in the very next morning. We started from Bangalore around 8 am and originally planned to travel to Vijayawada in first day. First night we stopped at Nellore and the next night we stopped at Vizag. This video is of day 3 and 4 when we started from Vizag and then crossed Odisha to finally reach our Kolkata city. Many things happened on the way and watch the video to know about this last and final stretch of the long 2000 km journey from Bangalore to Kolkata. And yes, though there was the scare of CoronaVirus, we did enjoy the trip to its fullest while taking all necessary precautions. You can check out the places we stayed in and the places we ate at. Hopefully this will help you plan your own trips in the pandemic ridden world.
